Members take the fight to Canberra: it’s time to professionalise the workforce!

This month, HSU activists visited members of parliament to highlight the need to professionalise the disability support workforce.

Alongside frontline aged care workers, members passionately made the case for a worker registration scheme involving ongoing professional development, minimum training and professional indemnity insurance.

Members’ stories makes a massive difference to our advocacy. Politicians love to hear from workers first hand, and about what it’s like to deliver disability supports on the front lines of our NDIS.

Massive thanks to Tim and Cathy from Victoria, Tonya and Chris from Tassie, and Mitul from NSW – you’re all absolute legends.

Want to get active in future Canberra visits? Talk to your local HSU organizer about how you can get involved!
